Freqüüsijaotust

Freqüüsijaotust, often translated as frequency distribution, is a fundamental concept in statistics and data analysis. It describes how often different values or ranges of values occur within a dataset. Essentially, it's a way of organizing and summarizing data to understand its underlying patterns.

A frequency distribution typically presents the observed values of a variable and the number of times each value (or range of values) appears. This can be shown in a table or graphically. For categorical data, like colors of cars, the frequency distribution would list each color and how many cars of that color are present. For numerical data, such as test scores, it might group scores into intervals (e.g., 0-10, 11-20) and show the count of scores within each interval.

The purpose of a frequency distribution is to make large datasets more manageable and to reveal key characteristics. It helps identify the most common values (the mode), the spread of the data, and whether the distribution is symmetrical or skewed. This understanding is crucial for making informed decisions, drawing conclusions, and performing further statistical analyses like calculating measures of central tendency and dispersion.
