Forrasztóón

Forrasztóón, commonly known as solder, is a fusible metal alloy used to join metal workpieces together. It is typically made of a tin and lead mixture, although lead-free alternatives are increasingly common due to environmental and health concerns. The melting point of solder is significantly lower than that of the metals it joins, allowing for a strong metallurgical bond to be formed without melting the base materials.

The composition of solder affects its melting point, strength, and flow characteristics. For instance, a higher tin content generally results in a lower melting point and better wetting properties. Lead-free solders often incorporate alloys like tin, copper, and silver to achieve comparable performance to traditional tin-lead solders. The presence of flux is crucial in the soldering process. Flux is a chemical cleaning agent that removes oxides and other contaminants from the surfaces of the metals to be joined, allowing the molten solder to flow and bond effectively.

Soldering is a widely used technique in electronics assembly, plumbing, and metalworking. In electronics, it connects components to printed circuit boards. In plumbing, it creates watertight seals in pipes. The process involves heating the workpiece and the solder to the solder's melting point, applying the molten solder, and then allowing it to cool and solidify, forming the joint.
