Formby

Formby is a coastal town and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England. It lies on the Irish Sea coast between Crosby to the south and Southport to the north, roughly 10 miles north of Liverpool city centre. The town is known for its expansive sandy beaches and dunes at Formby Point, which face the mouth of the River Alt and are a distinctive feature of the local landscape.

The pinewoods of Formby, a National Trust property, form a major ecological site adjacent to the beach.

Formby developed as a seaside resort in the 19th and early 20th centuries, aided by railway links

Education in Formby includes Formby High School and several primary schools. The community also contains golf
