Folyadékkromatográfián

Folyadékkromatográfián is the Hungarian term for liquid chromatography. It is a widely used analytical technique for separating and quantifying components in a liquid sample. The process involves a mobile phase, which is a liquid solvent, and a stationary phase, which is typically a solid adsorbent packed into a column. The sample is introduced into the mobile phase and passes through the column. Different components of the sample interact with the stationary phase to varying degrees, causing them to travel through the column at different rates. This differential migration leads to the separation of the components.

The separated components are then detected as they elute from the column. Common detectors include UV-Vis spectrophotometers, refractive index detectors, and mass spectrometers. The resulting output, a chromatogram, displays the detector signal as a function of time or mobile phase volume, with each peak representing a separated component.

Liquid chromatography encompasses several variations, including high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), which utilize high pressures to achieve faster and more efficient separations. Other forms include ion-exchange chromatography, size-exclusion chromatography, and affinity chromatography, each exploiting different separation principles.
