Flugleiðirs
Flugleiðir was the flag carrier airline of Iceland. Founded in 1944 as "Flugfélag Íslands", it later merged with "Loftleiðir" in 2001 to form Icelandair. The company operated a significant international network connecting Iceland to Europe and North America, as well as domestic routes within the island nation. Its fleet primarily consisted of Boeing aircraft throughout its operational history. Flugleiðir played a crucial role in developing Iceland's tourism industry and facilitating connections for its citizens. The airline was headquartered in Reykjavík. Its rebranding as Icelandair consolidated its operations and market presence under a single, more recognizable brand.
