Flatsatisrons

Flatsatisrons are a hypothetical class of astronomical objects theorized to exist within the theoretical framework of certain modified gravity theories. These objects are not predicted by standard general relativity. The concept of flatsatisrons arises from attempts to explain observations that might deviate from the predictions of Einstein's theory of gravity, particularly in regimes of very low acceleration or high spatial extent, such as galactic scales or cosmological distances.

The term "flatsatisron" is derived from "flat" referring to the observed flatness of rotation curves in spiral galaxies, and "satisron" suggesting an object that "satisfies" or explains this flatness. Currently, there is no direct observational evidence confirming the existence of flatsatisrons. Their study is primarily within the realm of theoretical physics and cosmology, serving as a focal point for ongoing research into the nature of gravity and the structure of the universe. If future observations were to strongly contradict the predictions of dark matter models and simultaneously support a particular modified gravity theory, then the investigation into objects like flatsatisrons might become more prominent.
