Flagellær

Flagellær is a term that describes something related to or possessing flagella. Flagella are whip-like appendages that protrude from the cell body of certain microorganisms and cells. They are primarily used for locomotion, enabling these cells to move through liquid environments. The structure of a flagellum is complex, consisting of a basal body embedded in the cell membrane, a hook, and a filament made of a protein called flagellin.

The movement generated by flagella is often described as a rowing or propeller-like motion, allowing for rapid and efficient swimming.
