FinnicUgric
FinnicUgric is an informal term sometimes used to describe the Finno-Ugric branch of the Uralic language family, comprising its Finnic and Ugric subgroups. The standard label in linguistic classifications is Finno-Ugric. Proto-Finno-Ugric is reconstructed as the ancestor of both Finnic and Ugric languages and is believed to have been spoken several millennia ago in the region around the Ural Mountains. The subsequent split led to two main lineages, with Ugric itself dividing into Hungarian and the Ob-Ugric languages (Khanty and Mansi).
