Finantsinspektsioon
Finantsinspektsioon, or the Estonian Financial Supervisory Authority, is the national independent public authority responsible for the supervision and regulation of Estonia's financial markets. Its mandate includes ensuring financial stability, market integrity, and consumer protection. The authority oversees a range of sectors, including banks and credit institutions, insurance and occupational pension funds, investment firms and services, and financial market infrastructure such as trading venues and operators of payment systems. It issues licences, registers entities, and sets requirements for licensing and conduct. It conducts on-site inspections and off-site monitoring of financial service providers, monitors compliance with laws and regulations, and enforces supervisory measures.
