FileZilla

FileZilla is a free, cross-platform software package for transferring files over a network. It consists of FileZilla Client, an FTP, FTPS, and SFTP client, and FileZilla Server, an FTP server. The project is maintained by the FileZilla Project and the software is released under the GNU General Public License, making both components free and open source.

FileZilla Client provides a graphical user interface for connecting to FTP servers, with support for FTP, FTPS (FTP over TLS), and SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol). Key features include a Site Manager for storing connections, a tabbed interface, drag-and-drop transfers, a transfer queue with pause and resume, speed limits, IPv6 support, large-file handling, and remote file editing. The client runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is built with wxWidgets.

FileZilla Server is an FTP server for Windows that supports FTP and FTPS, user authentication, and passive mode configuration. It is designed for ease of use and integration with existing networks and firewalls.

Both components receive regular updates and security patches through the official FileZilla Project channels, and are widely used in both personal and professional contexts.
