Ferðaskrif

Ferðaskrif is the Icelandic term for travel writing, a prose genre that records journeys, landscapes, and encounters. It combines description of place with personal reflection and, in many cases, practical or logistical details for readers planning similar routes.

The word derives from ferð (journey) and skrif (writing). In Icelandic literature, ferðaskrif encompasses a range of texts from travel essays and travelogues to memoir-like reportage, published in newspapers, magazines, and books.
