Fertigboden

Fertigboden, also known as precast flooring or prefabricated flooring, refers to floor slabs that are manufactured off-site in a factory and then transported to the construction site for installation. This method offers several advantages over traditional cast-in-place concrete flooring. The factory environment allows for precise control over material quality, curing conditions, and dimensional accuracy, leading to a more consistent and superior product. Production can also occur independently of weather conditions on the construction site, potentially shortening overall project timelines.

The manufacturing process typically involves pouring concrete into reusable molds. Reinforcement, such as steel rebar or prestressed tendons, is integrated into the concrete before it cures. Once hardened and demolded, the precast slabs are ready for transport. Common types of fertigboden include solid slabs, hollow-core slabs, and double tees, each offering different load-bearing capacities and applications.

Installation involves lifting the precast elements into place using cranes and connecting them to the building's structure. Joints between slabs are then typically grouted or sealed to ensure structural integrity and a continuous surface.
