Fermionin

Fermionin is a hypothetical elementary fermion proposed in extensions of the Standard Model to address questions such as dark matter, neutrino masses, or fermion content of hidden sectors. It is a spin-1/2 particle that obeys Fermi-Dirac statistics.

The exact mass, charge, and interaction pattern of fermionin vary across models. In common sketches, it is electrically neutral and interacts with Standard Model particles only through a weakly coupled mediator or through a new gauge interaction in a hidden sector. It can be Dirac or Majorana, leading to different phenomenology.

It often appears in theories with extra fermion generations, extended gauge groups, or portals between visible and hidden sectors, such as the Higgs or vector portals. It can serve as a dark matter candidate if stable or long-lived, or as a mediator between sectors.

Collider production would yield missing energy signals; in cosmology, it could be produced thermally in the early universe; direct detection would require small but nonzero couplings to nuclei; indirect detection could come from annihilation or decay signals.

No experimental evidence exists for ferminins as of now; current searches constrain possible couplings and mass ranges. Future experiments may probe parameter space with higher luminosity or new detection strategies.
