FaxÜbertragung

FaxÜbertragung, also known as fax transmission, is a telecommunications technology used to transmit copies of documents over telephone lines. A fax machine scans a document and converts the image into an electronic signal, which is then sent through a standard phone line to another fax machine. The receiving machine decodes the signal and prints a duplicate of the original document.

This technology was widely used for sending and receiving documents quickly before the advent of email and other digital communication methods. It was particularly popular in business environments for transmitting contracts, invoices, and other important papers. The process involves dialing the recipient's fax number, establishing a connection, and then transmitting the document page by page.

The transmission speed of a fax varies depending on the technology used, typically ranging from a few seconds to a couple of minutes per page. Early fax machines were analog, while later models incorporated digital technology, offering improved resolution and speed.
