Faseforskjell

Faseforskjell refers to the difference in phase between two periodic phenomena. In physics, this typically applies to waves or oscillating systems. When two waves have the same frequency, their phase difference indicates how much one wave is ahead or behind the other. This difference can be expressed in degrees or radians.

A phase difference of zero means the waves are in phase, meaning their crests and troughs align perfectly. A phase difference of 180 degrees (or pi radians) means the waves are completely out of phase, with the crest of one wave coinciding with the trough of the other. Intermediate phase differences result in partial constructive or destructive interference.

In electrical engineering, phase difference is crucial for understanding alternating current (AC) circuits. For instance, the voltage and current in an AC circuit may not be perfectly synchronized, leading to a phase difference. This impacts power delivery and the behavior of components like capacitors and inductors.
