Farbräume

Farbräume, also known as color spaces, are a system for organizing and representing colors. They define a way to describe and reproduce colors numerically. A color space establishes a framework where each color can be identified by a set of coordinates. Common color spaces include RGB, CMYK, and HSL.

RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is an additive color model widely used in digital displays like monitors and televisions. It describes colors by combining different intensities of red, green, and blue light. When these colors are mixed additively, they result in white.

CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) is a subtractive color model primarily used in printing. It works by subtracting light from a white surface. In this model, inks of cyan, magenta, and yellow are applied, and black is added for deeper tones and better contrast.

HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) is another color model that describes colors in a more intuitive way for humans. Hue represents the pure color (like red, green, blue), saturation refers to the intensity or purity of the color, and lightness indicates how bright or dark the color is. Understanding these different color spaces is crucial for accurate color representation and reproduction across various media.
