Fantoomjõude

Fantoomjõude, also known as fictitious forces or inertial forces, are a concept used in physics to describe the forces that appear to act on objects within a non-inertial reference frame. An inertial reference frame is one that is not accelerating, meaning it is either at rest or moving at a constant velocity. In contrast, a non-inertial reference frame is one that is accelerating, either linearly or rotationally.

When an observer is in a non-inertial frame, they perceive forces that do not exist in an inertial frame. These perceived forces are called fantoomjõude. They arise from the observer's own acceleration relative to an inertial frame. For example, when a car accelerates forward, a passenger inside the car feels a force pushing them back into their seat. This "backward force" is a fantoomjõud, specifically the inertial force associated with the car's forward acceleration.

Common examples of fantoomjõude include the centrifugal force, which appears to push objects outward in a rotating frame, and the Coriolis force, which deflects moving objects in a rotating frame. These forces are not real in the sense that they are not caused by physical interactions like gravity or electromagnetism. Instead, they are mathematical constructs that allow physicists to apply Newton's laws of motion within accelerating reference frames. By including fantoomjõude in calculations, it is possible to describe the motion of objects consistently, even when observing from a non-inertial perspective. Understanding fantoomjõude is crucial in fields such as engineering, meteorology, and astronomy, where phenomena often occur in rotating or accelerating systems.
