Fakad

Fakad is a town and administrative center of Fakad District in the fictional country of Veridia. It is located in the eastern foothills along the Ryn River, roughly 150 kilometers northeast of Veridia’s capital. The town sits in a temperate zone with warm summers and cool winters, and the surrounding hills support mixed agriculture.

Historically, Fakad grew as a market settlement in the 12th century and developed into a regional hub for trade and crafts. The arrival of the railway in the late 19th century spurred industrial growth, and today the local economy combines agriculture, light manufacturing, and services. Main crops include barley, corn, and olives, with small-scale textile production and food-processing facilities in the industrial area.

Administratively, Fakad is governed by a local council under national law and serves as the seat of Fakad District. The population comprises urban and rural residents, reflecting a range of socio-economic backgrounds. The town center features a historic market district and a riverside promenade, and it preserves several cultural sites, including the remnants of a medieval fortress.

Culturally, Fakad hosts an annual Harvest Moon Festival and a weekly market that draws visitors from surrounding areas. The local language, Fakadi, coexists with the national language in education and public life. The town is served by regional roads and a local rail connection, linking Fakad with nearby towns and the regional capital.
