Fahrenheitasteikolla
Fahrenheitasteikolla is a Finnish language expression meaning “on the Fahrenheit scale.” It is used when reporting or discussing temperatures that are given in Fahrenheit rather than the Celsius scale. The Fahrenheit scale was developed by Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit and defines the freezing point of water at 32 degrees Fahrenheit and the boiling point at 212 degrees Fahrenheit at standard atmospheric pressure. In Finland, Celsius is the default unit for temperature, but Fahrenheitasteikolla appears in translation work, international news, or when referencing American data, where Fahrenheit remains common.
