Fagosomul
Fagosomul is a term derived from the Greek words "phagein" meaning "to eat" and "soma" meaning "body," referring to a membrane-bound organelle within a cell. It is formed during the process of phagocytosis, a type of endocytosis where the cell engulfs large particles. Once a particle, such as a bacterium, cellular debris, or other foreign material, is internalized by the cell's plasma membrane, it is enclosed within a vesicle. This vesicle then becomes the fagosomul.
The primary function of the fagosomul is to isolate the ingested material from the cell's cytoplasm. This
