Fabrikantidentificaties

Fabrikantidentificaties are a set of alphanumeric codes used by the Dutch government to identify manufacturers of vehicles. The codes were introduced in the 1980s as a means of distinguishing between vehicles from different manufacturers, particularly in cases where the manufacturer's name was not clearly displayed on the vehicle.

The system uses a combination of letters and numbers to create a unique identifier for each manufacturer. The codes are usually displayed on the vehicle's registration certificate or other official documents. The codes are often preceded by the prefix "Fabrikant" or "Man Ln", which translates to "Manufacturer" or "Manufacturing License Number".

The fabrikantidentificaties system is currently managed by the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security, which is responsible for assigning codes to manufacturers and updating the system. There are currently over 250 unique fabrikantidentificaties in use, representing a wide range of manufacturers from around the world.

The fabrikantidentificaties system serves as a way to verify a vehicle's manufacturer and prevent counterfeiting of parts and accessories.
