FASTAformaadis

FASTAformaadis is a file format used in bioinformatics to represent either nucleotide sequences or peptide sequences, in which nucleotides are represented using single-letter codes. The format is simple and flexible, making it a popular choice for storing and exchanging sequence data. A FASTA file typically begins with a single-line description, starting with a greater-than (>) symbol, followed by the actual sequence data on the next line(s). The sequence can be split across multiple lines, and the format does not require any specific line length or character set. This simplicity allows for easy parsing and manipulation of sequence data using various bioinformatics tools and programming languages. FASTA files are widely used in genome sequencing, proteomics, and other areas of computational biology. The format was developed by David J. Lipman and Walter R.
