The Republic F-84G Thunderjet was a swept-wing, transonic jet fighter-bomber. It was an improved variant of the F-84 Thunderjet series, featuring several significant upgrades. Key among these was the introduction of a refueling probe, allowing for aerial refueling and extending its operational range considerably. This capability was crucial for its role in the Korean War, where it performed deep penetration bombing missions.

The F-84G also incorporated more powerful armament options, including the ability to carry a nuclear weapon. Its primary armament consisted of six .50 caliber M3 Browning machine guns. Underwing hardpoints allowed for the carriage of bombs, rockets, or fuel tanks. The aircraft was powered by a single Allison J35-A-29 turbojet engine, providing sufficient thrust for its intended missions.

Produced in large numbers, the F-84G served with the United States Air Force and was also supplied to several NATO allies under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program. Its versatility as a fighter-bomber made it a valuable asset during the Cold War era. The F-84G's operational career spanned into the late 1950s before being gradually replaced by newer generation jet aircraft.
