F2A2
The F2A2 was a United States Navy designation for a variant of the Brewster Buffalo fighter aircraft developed in the late 1930s. It represents the second major production update of the F2A Buffalo family, following the F2A-1. The F2A-2 incorporated improvements intended to address performance and reliability concerns identified in the earlier variant, including a more powerful engine and revised aerodynamics and airframe features. The changes aimed to improve flight characteristics, handling, and combat effectiveness, while preserving the Buffalo’s single-seat, low-wing configuration.
