Exergylähestymistapa

Exergylähestymistapa, a Finnish term, translates to "exergy approach" in English. It is a method used in thermodynamics and engineering to analyze the quality of energy within a system. Unlike energy, which is conserved, exergy represents the maximum useful work obtainable from a system as it comes into equilibrium with its surroundings. The exergy approach focuses on identifying and quantifying energy losses that occur due to irreversibilities, such as friction, heat transfer across a finite temperature difference, and mixing.

The core principle of the exergy approach is that not all energy is equally useful. While the first law of thermodynamics deals with the conservation of energy, the second law, which introduces exergy, addresses the degradation of energy quality.
