Exanthematösa

Exanthema is a blanket term referring to various skin manifestations of inflammation and erythema. These can be single or multi-focal and can evolve into new lesions or resolve as new lesions appear at different parts of the body. Exanthems can be acute or chronic.

Examples of exanthematous diseases include, but are not limited to, measles, rubella, and those secondary to drug treatment, such as administrative drug hypersensitivity, antibiotic-induced exanthem, and fulminant immune drug vegetables. Herpes zoster and idiopathic urticaria are also classified as exanthematous diseases.

The diagnosis of exanthematous diseases relies on a detailed medical history and physical examination. Usually, no specific diagnostic tests are required. Sometimes, diagnosis may be aided by the appearance of lesions and patterns of distribution, ensuring the distinction from non-exanthematous diseases and diseases that have a more transient and not calendar-like appearance.

Treatment of exanthematous diseases primarily focuses on the underlying cause, such as discontinuing drug hypersensitivity or treating a bacterial infection with antibiotics. Symptomatic treatment includes antihistamines and corticosteroids for relief of itching and redness. The approach to treatment and control is vital to prevent the transmission of easily contagious diseases.

These disorders can be common to all age groups and patients of all ethnic backgrounds. Frequently, family or close contact of the patient may be unaware of any unwell feelings until it has turned red, which usually transpires when there is an infectious reason or has another general stimulus.
