Eurotiales
Eurotiales is an order of fungi within the class Eurotiomycetes, phylum Ascomycota. It comprises a group of mostly terrestrial and saprobic molds that are widely distributed in soil, decaying vegetation, stored foods, and indoor environments. The order includes several families, of which Trichocomaceae is the best known; the most widely studied genera are Aspergillus and Penicillium.
Morphology and reproduction: Members are predominantly anamorphic (asexual) molds that produce conidiophores with phialides bearing conidia.
Ecology and significance: Eurotiales includes fungi that contribute to the decomposition of organic matter and participate
Health and safety: Some Eurotiales species are opportunistic human pathogens or allergens, particularly in immunocompromised individuals
Taxonomic notes: The order has been shaped by morphological characters of conidiophores and asci, and its circumscription
