Fossil remains of Euronectes have been primarily found in the Solnhofen Limestone deposits of Bavaria, Germany, a Lagerstätte renowned for its exceptionally preserved fossils. This ancient fish is a member of the order Pachycormiformes, a group of Mesozoic fish characterized by their deep bodies and specialized fins.

The anatomy of Euronectes suggests it was a predatory fish. Its body was laterally compressed, and it possessed a relatively large mouth, likely adapted for capturing prey. The fins, particularly the pectoral and dorsal fins, were robust, indicating it was a capable swimmer.
