In Azerbaijani, the cognate etibar means trust or credibility; related adjectives include etibarlı “reliable” and etibarsız “untrustworthy.” While etibar and etibor share the same root, their usage reflects language-specific conventions, with etibar occupying a primary role in discussions of reliability and reputation rather than the more immediate sense of attention found in Uzbek.
