Esterikytkentää

Esterikytkentää refers to the connection of multiple electronic components in series, meaning they are arranged end-to-end to form a single path for current to flow. In a series circuit, the same current passes through each component. If one component in the series fails, the entire circuit will be broken, and current will stop flowing. The total resistance in a series circuit is the sum of the individual resistances of each component. Voltage, however, is divided across the components in a series connection; the total voltage supplied by the source is distributed among the components according to their resistance values, following Ohm's Law. Common examples of esterikytkentää include simple battery packs where multiple cells are connected in series to achieve a higher voltage, or strings of Christmas lights where if one bulb burns out, the entire string may go dark.
