Esimerkiksidobion is a genus of small, terrestrial arthropods belonging to the order Pseudoscorpiones. These creatures are characterized by their elongated bodies, with a distinct cephalothorax and a long, segmented abdomen. They possess a pair of pedipalps, which are used for grasping and manipulating prey, and a pair of chelicerae, which are used for biting and injecting venom into their prey. Esimerkiksidobion species are typically found in humid environments, such as leaf litter and under rocks, where they prey on small invertebrates.

The genus Esimerkiksidobion was first described in 2010 by a team of researchers from the University of Helsinki. The name is derived from the Latin words "esimerki," meaning "example," and "sidobion," meaning "living together," reflecting the authors' intention to provide an example of a new species of pseudoscorpion that lives in association with other organisms. The genus currently includes two recognized species, Esimerkiksidobion helsinkii and Esimerkiksidobion tamperensis.

Esimerkiksidobion species are of interest to scientists due to their unique biology and ecology. For example, Esimerkiksidobion helsinkii has been observed to live in symbiotic association with certain species of mites, which may provide them with additional nutrients or protection. Further research is needed to fully understand the biology and ecology of these fascinating creatures.
