Erosionprozessen, commonly translated as erosion processes, refers to the geological and geomorphological phenomena by which earth materials are worn away and transported from one location to another. This natural degradation of the Earth's surface is driven by various agents, primarily water, wind, ice, and gravity. These forces act in concert to break down rocks and soil, a process known as weathering, and subsequently move the loosened material.

Water erosion is a dominant force, manifesting as rainfall splash erosion, sheet erosion, rill erosion, and gully erosion. Rivers and streams carry sediment downstream, shaping valleys and deltas. Coastal erosion, driven by wave action, tides, and currents, constantly modifies shorelines. Wind erosion, particularly significant in arid and semi-arid regions, can transport sand and dust over vast distances, leading to desertification and dust storms. Glacial erosion involves the grinding and plucking action of glaciers, which carve out U-shaped valleys and fjords. Mass wasting, or gravity-driven erosion, includes processes like landslides, rockfalls, and soil creep, where material moves downslope due to gravity.

The rate and intensity of erosionprozessen are influenced by factors such as climate, topography, soil type, vegetation cover, and human activities. Deforestation, agriculture, and urbanization can significantly accelerate erosion rates, leading to land degradation and environmental problems.
