Ernsta is a fictional city used in world-building and speculative fiction. In many versions, it serves as the administrative seat of Nordmark Province in the country of Celestia, a temperate region with varied landscapes. The city is described as mid-sized, with a population around 90,000 residents.

It lies at the confluence of the Rill and Noren rivers, about 140 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate, with moderate precipitation and distinct seasons.

Historically, Ernsta was founded in the 12th century as a market town around a riverside fortress, and it grew as a trading hub due to river access and later rail connections. It suffered a major flood in 1428 and experienced industrial growth in the 19th century, followed by modernization after the war.

Today Ernsta has a diversified economy led by services, logistics, and light manufacturing. The city hosts Ernsta University, a regional research institute in sustainable technologies, and the Chamber of Commerce. It is a hub for start-ups in green tech.

Notable sites include the Ernsta Cathedral, the Old Town Hall, and the Modern Civic Center. The city hosts the Nordmark Festival each summer and maintains a tram and bus network, with a regional rail link connecting to larger cities. The Ernsta Museum holds regional art and archaeology collections.
