Erfaringslæringssyklus

Erfaringslæringssyklus, often translated as the experiential learning cycle, is a model that describes how individuals learn through experience. It was popularized by psychologist David Kolb and suggests that learning is a continuous process. The cycle consists of four distinct stages.

The first stage is Concrete Experience, where an individual actively participates in or experiences an event. This is the "doing" or "having an experience" phase. Following this, the individual enters the Reflective Observation stage. Here, they reflect on the experience from multiple perspectives, observing and thinking about what happened.

The third stage is Abstract Conceptualization. In this phase, the learner tries to make sense of their reflections by creating theories or abstract concepts to explain the experience. This involves logical thinking and analysis. Finally, the cycle moves to Active Experimentation. Here, the learner uses the abstract concepts they've developed to plan and try out new behaviors or approaches in future situations. This experimentation then leads to new concrete experiences, restarting the cycle. The model emphasizes that effective learning involves moving through all four stages.
