Epizephyrian
Epizephyrian refers to a geographical region in ancient Italy, specifically the southernmost part of Calabria. The name derives from Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind, indicating its location on the western side of the peninsula. This area was part of Magna Graecia, the coastal regions of Southern Italy colonized by Greeks from the 8th century BCE onwards. The most prominent city in Epizephyrian territory was Locri Epizephyrii, founded by colonists from the Peloponnese.
