Eormenburhs
Eormenburh was the wife of King Merewalh of Mercia and mother of his children, including the later King Wigfrith. She is known primarily through genealogical texts and hagiographies, particularly those related to Saint Mildred. Eormenburh is often identified as the daughter of Eormenred, a king of Kent, and Oslava. Her marriage to Merewalh, a sub-king in Mercia who was also related to the Kentish royal family, likely served to strengthen political ties between the two kingdoms.
Eormenburh is credited with founding the monastery at Minster-in-Thanet, a significant religious institution in Anglo-Saxon England.
