Enzimtevkenységet, a Hungarian term, translates to "enzyme activity" in English. It refers to the rate at which an enzyme catalyzes a chemical reaction. Enzymes are biological catalysts, typically proteins, that speed up biochemical processes without being consumed in the reaction. Their activity is crucial for life, enabling metabolic pathways, digestion, and numerous other cellular functions.

Enzyme activity is influenced by several factors, including temperature, pH, substrate concentration, and the presence of inhibitors or activators. Optimal temperature and pH conditions exist for each enzyme, beyond which their activity can decrease or cease altogether due to denaturation. Substrate concentration affects the reaction rate up to a point where all enzyme active sites are saturated. Inhibitors can slow down or block enzyme activity, while activators can enhance it.
