Enmastig

Enmastig is a term of art used in maritime contexts, generally referring to the state of a vessel's sails and rigging when they are set and ready for sailing. It describes the condition of the masts, spars, sails, and all associated lines and gear being properly arranged and deployed to capture the wind effectively. A ship is said to be enmastig when its sails are unfurled and tensioned, allowing it to move through the water. This contrasts with a ship that is dismasted, meaning its masts are broken or have fallen, or that is "in stays," a maneuver where the sails are temporarily luffed to allow the ship to change direction. The term implies a functional and ready state for the propulsion system of a sailing vessel.
