Engakuji
Engakuji is a prominent Zen Buddhist temple located in Kita-Kamakura, Japan. It is one of the five great Zen temples of Kamakura and holds significant historical and cultural importance. Founded in 1282 by the Imperial Regent Hōjō Tokimune, the temple was established to appease the spirits of those who died during the Mongol invasions of Japan. Engakuji quickly rose to prominence as a center for Rinzai Zen Buddhism.
