Energiasäästuvalgustid

Energiasäästuvalgustid, often translated as energy-saving light bulbs, are a category of lighting technology designed to consume less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs while providing comparable illumination. The primary goal of these bulbs is to reduce energy consumption, leading to lower electricity bills and a decreased environmental impact.

The most common types of energy-saving light bulbs include Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) and Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). CFLs work by passing an electric current through a tube filled with inert gas and mercury vapor, which then produces ultraviolet light that causes a fluorescent coating on the inside of the tube to emit visible light. LEDs, on the other hand, are semiconductor devices that emit light when an electric current passes through them.

Compared to incandescent bulbs, both CFLs and LEDs offer significant energy efficiency improvements. LEDs are generally considered the most energy-efficient option currently available, offering longer lifespans and better durability. The widespread adoption of energiasäästuvalgustid is encouraged by governments and environmental organizations as a straightforward way to contribute to energy conservation efforts.
