Enantiomerischer is a German adjective meaning "enantiomeric." It describes a relationship between two molecules that are stereoisomers and are mirror images of each other. These molecules are called enantiomers. Enantiomers have the same chemical formula and connectivity of atoms, but they differ in their three-dimensional arrangement.

The concept of enantiomerischer is fundamental in stereochemistry, a subfield of chemistry that studies the spatial arrangement of atoms in molecules and the effect of this arrangement on chemical reactions and properties. Enantiomers often exhibit identical physical properties such as melting point, boiling point, and solubility in achiral solvents. However, they can differ significantly in their biological activity because biological systems, such as enzymes and receptors, are themselves chiral. This enantioselective interaction can lead to different pharmacological effects, making the distinction between enantiomers crucial in drug development and synthesis. For example, one enantiomer of a drug might be therapeutically active, while the other could be inactive or even harmful.
