Elqar

Elqar is a fictional planet located in the fictional galaxy of Xylos. It is a terrestrial world with a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere, similar to Earth's, though with higher concentrations of argon. The planet's surface is dominated by vast, arid deserts and rugged mountain ranges, with sparse patches of hardy vegetation adapted to extreme temperatures. Elqar has a single, large moon, known as Lunara, which exerts a significant tidal influence on the planet's few, shallow seas.

The indigenous sentient species of Elqar are known as the K'tharr. They are a reptilian humanoid race characterized by their tough, scaly hides, which range in color from sandy brown to deep ochre. The K'tharr have developed a civilization that is deeply intertwined with the harsh environment of their home world. Their settlements are often subterranean or built into natural rock formations to escape the intense solar radiation and extreme diurnal temperature fluctuations.

K'tharr society is organized into nomadic tribes, each led by an elder council. Their technology is primarily focused on survival and resource management, with a strong emphasis on solar energy and efficient water reclamation. They are known for their stoic nature and their deep respect for the natural world. Interstellar contact with Elqar is limited, as the K'tharr have historically been reclusive, preferring to maintain their isolation. However, recent expeditions from other galactic civilizations have begun to establish cautious diplomatic relations.
