Elevhälsoteamet

Elevhälsoteamet, often abbreviated as EHT, is a multidisciplinary team in Swedish schools responsible for supporting students' overall well-being and learning. The team's primary goal is to identify and address barriers to learning and development that students may encounter.

The composition of the elevhälsoteam can vary slightly between schools but typically includes school nurses, school counselors (kuratorer), special education teachers, and school psychologists. In some cases, other professionals like school principals or special needs coordinators may also be involved. Each member brings a unique area of expertise to the team, allowing for a holistic approach to student support.

The elevhälsoteam works proactively to promote a positive school environment and prevent problems. This can involve implementing health promotion activities, developing strategies for inclusion, and contributing to the school's overall development plan. Reactively, the team intervenes when students face challenges such as academic difficulties, social-emotional problems, behavioral issues, or health concerns. They collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders to develop individualized support plans and facilitate access to necessary resources. Confidentiality is a key principle in their work.
