Artificially produced elements, also known as transuranic elements, are created through nuclear reactions. These elements do not occur naturally on Earth and are typically produced in particle accelerators or nuclear reactors. The first artificially produced element was technetium, discovered in 1937. Since then, numerous other elements have been synthesized, including nobelium, lawrencium, and oganesson.

The production of elements is governed by strict regulations and safety protocols due to the potential hazards associated with radioactive materials and nuclear reactions. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) is responsible for naming and classifying new elements.
