Elementë
Elementë is the Albanian plural noun for elements. The term is used across disciplines to denote individual constituents of a set, a substance, or a system. In chemistry, elementë refers to chemical elements—substances that cannot be broken down into simpler substances by ordinary chemical means. Each element is characterized by its atomic number, the number of protons in its nucleus, and by a unique arrangement of electrons that governs its chemical behavior. There are 118 known chemical elements; natural elements number about 94, with the remaining elements produced synthetically in laboratories. The elements are organized in the periodic table, which groups elements by similar properties into categories such as alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, metalloids, nonmetals, halogens, noble gases, and the actinide and lanthanide series. Element properties include atomic mass, density, melting and boiling points, electronegativity, and common valence.
In mathematics and logic, elementë are members of a set; for example, in a set of numbers,
The term also appears in broader contexts to mean a component or part of a larger whole,
