Elektródokat

Elektródokat are conductive materials used to make electrical contact with a non-metallic part of a circuit. They are essential components in a wide range of applications, from simple batteries to complex medical devices. The term "elektródokat" is the accusative plural form of the Hungarian word "elektróda," meaning electrode.

The primary function of an elektróda is to facilitate the flow of electrical current. In electrochemical cells, such as batteries or electrolysis setups, elektródokat are crucial for the redox reactions that occur. One elektróda acts as the anode, where oxidation takes place, and another acts as the cathode, where reduction occurs. The movement of ions between these elektródokat in an electrolyte solution completes the electrical circuit.

In other contexts, elektródokat are used for sensing or applying electrical signals. For example, in electroencephalography (EEG) or electrocardiography (ECG), small elektródokat are attached to the skin to detect and record the electrical activity of the brain or heart.
