Elektronvibroprop is a hypothetical propulsion concept described in speculative physics and science fiction as a way to generate thrust by exploiting controlled electronic vibrations within a material. The term combines elements of electronic motion and vibrational dynamics and is typically associated with nanoscale or microscale devices intended to interact with surrounding fields or media rather than expelling reaction mass.

Proposed mechanisms vary, but most treatments describe using resonant oscillations of electrons or vibrational modes (phonons) to create a net momentum transfer. In some models, coherent electronic excitations couple to electromagnetic or phononic fields to produce asymmetric radiation pressure, near-field momentum exchange, or interactions with a substrate that yield thrust without macroscopic reaction mass. The concept remains speculative and has not been demonstrated experimentally.

Origins of the term appear in speculative literature and hobbyist discussions. It is sometimes conflated with areas such as microelectromechanical systems, phononics, or theoretical ideas about reactionless propulsion. Mainstream propulsion research does not currently recognize Elektronvibroprop as a validated mechanism.

Research status and challenges: if any mechanism existed, it would need to satisfy momentum conservation and energy efficiency constraints that are difficult to reconcile with observed physics. Issues include low expected thrust per device, strong coupling to nearby materials, and the requirement for coherent, lossless energy transfer. Practical realization, if possible at all, would require breakthroughs in materials, control, and measurement.
