Electrosleep

Electrosleep, also known as electrotherapy sleep or transcranial electrotherapy, is a method that uses weak electrical currents applied to the head to induce relaxation and improve sleep. It is sometimes referred to as electro-anesthesia or electro-analgesia due to its effects. The treatment typically involves placing electrodes on specific points on the scalp, such as the forehead and behind the ears. A low-frequency, low-intensity electrical current is then passed through these electrodes.

The proposed mechanisms of action for electrosleep are varied and not fully understood. Some theories suggest that the electrical stimulation may influence the release of neurotransmitters like endorphins and serotonin, which are associated with mood regulation and sleep. Others propose that it may modulate brain wave activity, promoting a state of calm and reducing anxiety. Proponents claim that electrosleep can help individuals fall asleep faster, experience deeper sleep, and wake up feeling more rested. It is sometimes used as an alternative or complementary therapy for insomnia and other sleep disturbances. However, scientific evidence supporting its efficacy is limited, and it is not a widely accepted medical treatment for sleep disorders.
