Einblutung

Einblutung is a German medical term that translates to hemorrhage or bleeding into a tissue or organ. It describes the extravasation of blood from the circulatory system into surrounding structures. This can occur due to various causes, including trauma, disease, or surgical procedures.

The manifestation of an einblutung depends on its location and severity. Minor bleeding might present as a bruise or contusion on the skin. More significant bleeding within organs can lead to pain, swelling, functional impairment, and potentially life-threatening complications. For instance, an einblutung in the brain, known as an intracranial hemorrhage, can cause neurological deficits. Bleeding into the abdominal cavity, or hemoperitoneum, can lead to shock.
