Eidfjordfossen

Eidfjordfossen is a waterfall located in the municipality of Eidfjord in Vestland county, Norway. The waterfall is situated close to the village of Eidfjord and is a popular tourist attraction, particularly during the summer months. It is fed by the Eidfjord River, which originates from the Hardangervidda plateau, Norway's largest mountain plateau.

The falls have a total drop of approximately 182 meters (597 feet). The water cascades down in a series of steps, with the most prominent single drop being around 60 meters (197 feet). The volume of water can vary significantly depending on the season and the amount of snowmelt from the Hardangervidda.

Eidfjordfossen is easily accessible from the E134 national road. A viewing platform has been constructed near the base of the falls, offering visitors unobstructed views and photo opportunities. The area surrounding the waterfall is also a popular spot for hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the Eidfjord valley. The presence of the Vøringsfossen waterfall nearby also contributes to the region's reputation as a destination for scenic natural wonders. Many visitors combine a trip to Eidfjordfossen with a visit to Vøringsfossen. The village of Eidfjord itself offers amenities such as accommodation and restaurants.
